Newlyweds Kiefer Ravena and Diana Mackey have so much love and affection for each other when they guested on “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda.”

I’m happy for Kiefer to have finally found The One. I have known him since he was a varsity athlete at Ateneo, as I used to manage him. I’m also good friends with his parents, Bong and Mozzy, as well as his siblings, Thirdy and Dani.

They met through their common friend, MJ Lastimosa, who played cupid for the couple. It all started when Kiefer asked MJ for help because Diana was not replying to his messages.

“Di ko pinapansin kasi sabi ko sa sarili ko before I would never date a basketball player. Ayaw ko talaga,” Diana explained.

She had negative preconceived notions about basketball players, but everything disappeared when they began dating. “He’s not so bad. Okay naman pala siya.”

Some say it is a whirlwind romance, but Kiefer and Diana have had enough time knowing each other before getting married.

Diana and Kiefer wore the creations of Filipino fashion designer Francis Libiran when they first tied the knot in June. The beauty queen looked stunning in her exquisitely designed bridal gown. Kiefer had sufficient time to prepare himself for the wedding after playing in Japan.

“At least coming from a season, I’m in good shape. Payat ako. It helped me. I didn’t wanna not look good in a Francis Libiran, so I had to make the most out of it. I’m happy the way it turned out,” he said.

The celebrity couple celebrated the intimate occasion with families and close friends. Diana admitted, “I cried, pero I think I let it all out before walking down the aisle. Siyempre, I didn’t want to ruin my makeup. Pero when I saw him, it was really hard not to cry. He cried.”

Meanwhile, Kiefer couldn’t hold his emotions.

“Rehearsals pa lang, I felt it. I felt the energy. I felt the vibe of finally, this is it. The moment that I’ve been waiting for. Iyong rehearsals pa lang ito, when I was like 30 minutes earlier before she came.” If one is not enough, they recently had a second wedding in the picturesque El Nido, Palawan, to relive with their loved ones the romantic moments in the exact place where they felt that they were meant for each other.

In the same interview, the newly married couple finally broke their silence to end speculations concerning Diana’s pregnancy. They revealed during our conversation on “Fast Talk” that they lost their first baby due to a miscarriage. Diana shared, “Shortly after announcing it, in March, I think a week after announcing it or two weeks, we lost the baby, unfortunately, at seven weeks.” Kiefer remains optimistic. “But you know, God’s plan, God’s timing. (The) best thing siguro that happened is now she’s healthy. Hopefully, with God’s grace, we could try again and see where it takes us.”

Diana is currently studying to be a pilot, so she is staying in the country while Kiefer plays basketball in the Japan B. League. “I’m doing flying school, so after the beach wedding, I want to get back to that. Japan isn’t that far. It’s a three-hour plane ride. I can always go to him,” she said.

It is a long-distance relationship (LDR) for now, but their promise of love will keep them together even if they are separated by miles. Diana said, “I will love him unconditionally, and I’ll always be here for you.” Kiefer vowed, “Loyalty, trust, and I’ll give you a great time. Together forever.”
