Kylian Mbappe scored the opening goal, helping France beat Brazil 2-1 and move closer to the team's all-time scoring record.

Mbappe scored in France's 2-1 victory over Brazil.

The friendly match at Gillette Stadium (USA) on the morning of March 27th saw the French team make an early difference thanks to a moment from Mbappe. In the 32nd minute, the striker born in 1998 received a through ball from Ousmane Dembele, broke free to face the goalkeeper, and executed a delicate lob to beat Ederson.

This was Mbappe's 56th goal in 95 appearances for the national team. He is now just one goal short of Olivier Giroud's record of 57 goals.

Mbappe was energetic in the first half, creating two more chances, but both shots went wide of the target. In the second half, he left the field in the 66th minute, making way for Marcus Thuram. Prior to this, the Real Madrid striker had just returned from a knee injury and had also spoken out to deny claims that his injury had been misdiagnosed.

The turning point of the match came when France were reduced to 10 men. Dayot Upamecano was sent off after fouling Wesley while preventing a clear scoring opportunity just outside the penalty area.

Despite playing with ten men, Didier Deschamps' team doubled their lead in the 65th minute. Hugo Ekitike capitalized on an opportunity in the penalty area, scoring with a close-range finish to extend the lead.

Brazil pulled one back in the 78th minute when center-back Bremer tapped in a cross from Luiz Henrique. However, that was all Carlo Ancelotti's team could manage.

The South American team was also without Neymar due to fitness issues. In the final minutes, Brazil was unable to create enough pressure to find an equalizer.

The victory helped the French team maintain stability and brought Mbappe very close to a historic milestone in his time with the national team.
