Ronaldo is unhappy with what is happening in Saudi Arabian football.
The Portuguese superstar is unhappy with the increasingly negative atmosphere. He believes that the excessive complaining and overreactions from players and stakeholders are damaging the image of Saudi Arabian football.
"Right now, everyone is complaining, there's too much overreaction. This is football, not war. Of course, everyone wants to win, but not everything is allowed," Ronaldo frankly shared.
The veteran striker emphasized: "After the season ends, I will speak out publicly about the bad things happening in the league, because I see a lot of things wrong. Many players are publicly complaining, posting on Instagram and Facebook about referee decisions, the league, and even the overall project."
CR7 believes this is a worrying sign, especially given that the Saudi Pro League aims to reach a level comparable to top European leagues. According to him, to achieve this, the league needs not only to improve its professional standards but also to build a professional and positive culture of conduct.
"If we want to become one of the best leagues in the world , we have to set an example. This situation needs to end, with serious analysis and open dialogue with the organizers. Because things are going far beyond the realm of normal football," Ronaldo concluded.
Ronaldo's statement was reportedly aimed directly at Merih Demiral. The player criticized the referee for consistently making decisions that favored Al Nassr. "Every season they are pushed so close to winning the title. It's unbelievable," Demiral declared.
