After ‘Extraordinary Attorney Woo,’ Park Eun-bin is returning with teleportation powers, chaotic comedy, and what may be her most unexpected character yet.

Park Eun-bin is stepping into one of the strangest and boldest roles of her career and even her director admits he never doubted she could pull it off.

At the press conference for Netflix’s upcoming series Wonderfools held in Seoul on May 12, director Yoo In-shik openly praised the actress while introducing her new character, saying he began believing “there may truly be nothing impossible for Park Eun-bin” after working with her on ‘Extraordinary Attorney Woo.’

This time, however, the actress is trading courtroom brilliance for complete chaos.

Park Eun-bin Takes on Teleportation Powers and Full Comedy Mode

In ‘Wonderfools,’ Park Eun-bin plays Eun Chae-ni, an impulsive and outspoken young woman living in the fictional city of Haeseong. According to the actress herself, the character may be the simplest-minded role she has ever played.

“She says whatever she wants because she thinks life could end at any moment,” Park explained during the event. “She’s reckless, immature, unpredictable… basically Haeseong’s biggest troublemaker.”

The twist? She suddenly develops the ability to teleport.

The upcoming Netflix series combines comedy, fantasy, and superhero adventure in a story set during the final days of 1999, where a group of seemingly ordinary “losers” unexpectedly gain supernatural abilities and become responsible for saving the world.

Director Yoo In-shik Says Park Eun-bin Surprised Him Again

Director Yoo In-shik, who previously worked with Park Eun-bin on ‘Extraordinary Attorney Woo,’ revealed he had complete confidence in her ability to handle the unusual role.

“When we worked together before, I kept being amazed by her,” he said. “I honestly started wondering if there was anything she couldn’t do.”

He also praised the actress’s comedic timing, describing her as fearless and unexpectedly funny throughout filming.

Park Eun-bin responded warmly to the praise, saying she had always hoped to reunite with the director on a project that could make audiences laugh.

“I didn’t know we would work together again this quickly,” she admitted. “But after hearing about the story back then, I thought it sounded genuinely fun.”

A Retro Superhero Drama Filled With Y2K Nostalgia

Unlike darker superhero series, ‘Wonderfools’ leans heavily into humor, warmth, and late-1990s nostalgia.

Director Yoo explained that the production team carefully recreated the atmosphere of 1999 through subtle details, including vintage graffiti, Y2K survival kits, and period-specific styling designed to quietly immerse viewers in the era.

Rather than focusing only on visual spectacle, the drama appears to balance comedy with emotional comfort and character chemistry.

Park Eun-bin emphasized that viewers looking for a break from the stress and complexity of real life may especially enjoy the series.

“If you want to forget how complicated reality feels for a while,” she said, “I hope you choose Wonderfools.

Why Fans Are Already Excited

The project is attracting attention not only because of its unusual concept, but because it shows a completely different side of Park Eun-bin from the emotionally controlled and intelligent characters she is usually known for.

The actress herself admitted she initially worried about whether she could be “funny enough” for the role, but said the energy on set helped her relax into the character.

The cast also includes Cha Eun-woo, Choi Dae-hoon, Im Sung-jae, Kim Hae-sook, and Son Hyun-joo, creating one of Netflix Korea’s most anticipated ensemble lineups of the year. And if the cast’s confidence is any indication, audiences may be about to discover a completely new side of Park Eun-bin.
