Netflix is giving its mobile app a major refresh, headlined by a new vertical video feed called Clips designed to make content discovery faster and more engaging on smartphones.

The update delivers a new mobile interface that enables users to navigate through the app more easily while experiencing a visual browsing system that meets their needs as mobile users. The main focus of the redesign process revolves around “Clips” because it provides users with customized access to short vertical video content, which displays important moments from films, television shows, and special programs.

Clips works as a content preview system that enables users to view content before they proceed to their next action, just like popular short-form platforms do. Members can add titles to My List, share clips through messaging or social media, and explore personalized recommendations directly from the feed.

Netflix says future updates will expand Clips to include podcasts, live programming, and genre-based collections for easier browsing. The rollout starts today in the United States, United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, India, Malaysia, Pakistan, the Philippines, and South Africa, with more regions to follow in the coming months.

With the move, Netflix is leaning further into mobile-first viewing habits, aiming to make discovering content as entertaining as watching it.
